This is a collection of my design work. Included are personal and non-proprietary projects I have contributed to. Content is continually being added.
Featured Works
Micro Drone
A Micro Drone I specced, designed, and 3D-printed as a personal project. I performed CAD aided FEM on it to ensure the body could take the stress from the brushless motors. The propeller models are approximations, they were good practice to help me understand certain Solidworks features better.
Dice Tower
A dice tower I designed and machined. I wanted square corners everywhere so I had to divide the front plate into small modular parts.
Spectrometer Body
The body for a spectrometer that I designed. All of the proprietary parts have been removed. Flexures allow for angling and alignment of the incoming rays. Various mounts are placed with specific distances in mind. Included are holes for springs to allow for precise focusing of the focal plane array.
Alignment Jigging
A jig I created to aid with the alignment of our spectrometer. It allows for 360° of rotation and 180° of azimuth rotation. The jig uses a combination of press fit ball bearings and balls to make sure stable rotation in the degrees of freedom that it has. Also included is a locking mechanism to pin the spectrometer in preferred positions. I performed all the design and machining.
3D Printed EV Charger Mount
I own an electric car. I wanted a way to neatly store the charger instead of simply draping it somewhere. I designed and printed a mount out of PETG to solve this issue.
As this was an outdoor application PETG was chosen for its superior properties (UV resistant and stronger than PLA)
Rectangular Optic Retaining Ring Mount
A custom made mount designed to mount rectangular optics by using a retaining ring. The goal behind this design was to remove the use of glue for affixing often changed optics.

About Me

While in school I was studying Physics and working in a Biomedical Terahertz Imaging Lab. My work in the lab made me realize I truly enjoyed hands-on creation and challenges of not just optical systems but hardware in general. I have had many opportunities to explore this interest by helping to build top of the line space telescopes, imaging systems, and spectrometers from all levels of the production line.
My love for working with my hands is not a new discovery. I have always enjoyed fiddling. As such, my home is filled with my creations such as chainmail vests, clay sculptures, jewelry, homemade hot sauces, and many more curios.
